Over recent years consumers in the UK have seen the UK’s supermarket giants branch out into a diverse range of products, from insurance and financial services to furniture sales and more, making big names such as Tesco and Sainsbury’s places where you can get far more than just your groceries. One of the country’s largest supermarkets has now announced that it is going one step further, by joining the plethora of price comparison sites out there, giving consumers the chance to compare prices on their car insurance.
Tesco has recently announced the launch of its car insurance price comparison site, which is called Tesco Compare.com. There are already many price comparison sites on the market aimed at those looking to find cheaper car insurance, and Tesco officials hope that its reputation as a household name will make its price comparison site as popular of not more popular than the others.
The website has been launched with the Royal Bank of Scotland, and there are a number of RBS insurance providers listed on the Tesco site, including Churchill insurance. Experts have advised consumers that they need to bear in mind that, as with most other price comparison sites, the number of insurance companies listed on this site is limited and therefore there may still be cheaper deals out there than the one that is suggested by the price comparison site.
Tesco, along with other major supermarkets, has diversified enormously over recent years, branching out into all sorts of insurance products, loans, credit cards, and more. Some experts feel that the other major supermarkets could soon follow suit with the launch of other similar websites in order to keep up with the competition.
